Northern Saw-whet Owl 

This owl is one of several that winters at Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary near Vancouver, BC. This was sighted in December of 2003.

Snowy Owl 

This Snowy Owl showed up on a rooftop at Discovery Park, in Seattle, WA in November of 2005. These regularly appear during the winter in eastern Washington and the Skagit Valley, but are unusual in Seattle!

This juvenile Bald Eagle was sighted at Juanita Bay State Park in Kirkland during one winter, being harrassed by Glaucous-winged Gulls until he had to drop his fish. This photo was taken during his retreat.

Turkey Vulture

Not really a raptor since it feeds on carrion, this Turkey Vulture was seen circling over Shark Reef Park on Lopez Island (San Juans), Washington in June of 2003.
